Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners head to Springfield, Mo., on Thursday to take on the 11
th ranked Drury Lady Panthers at the O'Reilly Family Events Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. S&T looks to end the season on a high note while the Lady Panthers are gunning for their 14
th straight win.
The Lady Miners (8-16, 4-13 GLVC) have lost two straight heading into Thursday after dropping a 69-54 decision at Maryville this past Saturday.
Bria Pierce (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North) netted a career-high 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting while
Janie Arand (Washington, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) added 13 points. It wouldn't be enough though as the Saints outscored S&T 23-4 in points off turnovers and knocked down nine three-pointers in the contest.
Pierce continues to lead the Lady Miners in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game while
Raetchel Gray (Allen, Okla./Byng ) is dropping in 9.5 points a night and
Jamy Douvier (Sedgwick, Kan./Sunrise Christian Academy) is chipping in with 8.8 points a contest. Douvier also leads the team in rebounding with 6.1 per game and Pierce is grabbing 5.2 rebounds a contest. Gray has dished out a team best 76 assists and
Joe'l Bland (St. Charles, Mo./Homeschooled) has 40 steals.
Drury enters Thursday's contest with a record of 22-3, 15-2 in the GLVC and has won 24 straight at the O'Reilly Family Events Center. The Lady Panthers are ranked 11
th in this week's USA Today/WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, tied for 14
th with Winona State in the D2SIDA Top 25 Media Poll and ranked third in the first NCAA-II Midwest Regional Rankings behind Ashland and Lewis.
Drury extended its winning streak with a pair of home wins over Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this past weekend. The Lady Panthers are second in the GLVC in scoring averaging 75.8 points per game, second in field goal percentage making 46.5 percent of their shots per game and are first in three-point field percentage shooting 43.4 percent from the perimeter.
Annie Armstrong leads the team in scoring with 15 points per game while Alice Heinzler is dropping home 11.2 points per contest. Addy Roller is contributing 7.8 points per night and Hannah Dressler is averaging 7.7 points and leads the squad with 7.1 rebounds a game. Roller has a team leading 81 assists and Heinzler has a team-high 58 steals.
