ROLLA, Mo. – A second member of Missouri S&T's 2014 football team has signed a free agent contract with a National Football League team.
Will Brown (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood West), who earned All-America honors a year ago as a cornerback for the Miners, signed Sunday with the Tennessee Titans. Brown had attended a spring minicamp with the Titans as a non-contract player, but signed with the club Sunday and will look to earn a spot on the roster.
Brown earned All-America honors from the American Football Coaches Association and was also named to the Daktronics/Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association all-region second team following the 2014 season, when he led the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a league-record seven interceptions and 11 pass breakups. Brown recorded 56 tackles during the season.
One of the interceptions Brown made during the season was returned for a touchdown to clinch a win over Lindenwood-Belleville in October.
Earlier this summer, offensive lineman
Forrestal Hickman (Holton, Kan./Holton HS) signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers and is currently in the team's training camp in LaJolla, Calif. The Chargers and Titans will open their pre-season schedules this weekend. Tennessee will open its pre-season slate against the Atlanta Falcons Friday at 6 p.m. on the NFL Network, then take on the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, August 23 in a game that will be shown nationally on FOX at 6 p.m.
San Diego begins its pre-season schedule Thursday on the NFL Network when it faces the Dallas Cowboys at 9 p.m., Central time.
