Box Score ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's men's soccer team fell behind right out of the gate Sunday afternoon and ended up on the losing end of a
4-0 decision to Indianapolis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
The Greyhounds – the pre-season favorite to win the GLVC title – came into Sunday's game without a victory in their first five games. But just 3:43 into the contest, they got on the scoreboard as Jacob Meyer redirected a pass in front of the net and knocked it in off an S&T defender in front.
The score remained that way until the latter stages of the first half, when Ngwese Ebangwese got to the rebound of a shot by Quinton Bridegroom that was stopped by S&T goalkeeper
Mason Fannin (Kansas City, Mo./Park Hill) and scored to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead it would take to halftime.
UIndy (1-3-2, 1-2-1 GLVC) would add two more goals after the break, getting them from Daniel Wellman in the 61
st minute and an unassisted tally from Casey Castle in the 77
th minute.
Fannin was credited with six saves in goal for the Miners, who were outshot 17-11 in the contest and shut out for the first time this season.
Eduardo Abichabki (Sao Jose do Rio Pardo, Brazil/Colegio Unigrau) had three of the Miner shots.
The Miners (2-3-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) will head to the road for a pair of contests next weekend, beginning with Friday's 7:30 p.m. contest at Quincy University.
