ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T will induct its 28th class into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 11, with four student-athletes, a long-time fixture in the athletic training office and two teams slated for induction.

The Miner Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2014 includes John Belich, who spent a quarter of a century as the university's athletic trainer; Dave Belleville, who was part of three national championship relay teams and also earned multiple All-America awards in swimming; Janet Borgmeyer, a standout infielder for the Lady Miner softball program and the school's all-time leader in hits; Kate (Hamera) Davis, an All-America performer for the S&T cross country and track & field program and two-time Academic All-America selection; and Bill Jolly, an All-America selection for the Miner men's basketball team and the program's all-time leading scorer.

The two teams to be inducted are the 2001-02 swimming team that placed fifth at the NCAA Division II Championships that season and the 1938 golf team, the first Miner team in any sport to win a conference championship.

The induction ceremony on Oct. 11 will take place at Matt's Steakhouse beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Hall of Fame Class of 2014 will also be honored at halftime of the Miners' football game that afternoon against Lindenwood University-Belleville at Allgood-Bailey Stadium that will get underway at 1 p.m.

The 2014 Missouri S&T Athletic Hall of Fame inductees:

JOHN BELICH (Athletic Trainer)
Belich served for 25 years as the athletic trainer from August 1977 through May 2002 and along the way earned the respect of many of the student-athletes who passed through the doors of the university during that span.  He handled the duties of prevention and rehabilitation of the injuries suffered by the student-athletes, but also developed a great rapport with them as well as the coaches and university community throughout that time.

DAVE BELLEVILLE (Swimming, Class of 2003)
Belleville completed his career with the Miner swimming program as one of its most decorated performers, highlighted by three NCAA Division II championships and 20 All-America awards.  He was part of the Miners' first-ever national championship-winning performance in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2001 and was on both of the national title relay teams the following year, winning a repeat championship in the 200-freestyle relay and then the 400-yard freestyle relay as the leadoff swimmer in all three.  In addition to the three national championships, Belleville also placed third in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races in 2001 and 2002 as well as taking 13 championships at the conference, six of them on an individual basis in the sprint freestyle events.  He established records in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle that stood for 14 seasons and was the recipient of both the Gale Bullman Award in 2002 and the inaugural Mark Finley Award.

JANET BORGMEYER (Softball, Class of 2004)
Borgmeyer finished an outstanding career in the Lady Miner softball program as the school's all-time leader in hits with 225 while posting a four-year batting average of .343.  She also set the Lady Miners' school record for runs scored in a season with 50 in the 2004 campaign, when she led a team that finished 41-14 with a .383 batting mark and 26 of her 69 career stolen bases from the leadoff spot in the lineup.   Earning All-MIAA honors in her final three years as a player and NFCA all-region honors in 2003, Borgmeyer posted an average of better than .300 in each of her four seasons in a Lady Miner uniform and had a school-record 18-game hitting streak during the 2004 season.  She also earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors from the NFCA in 2004.

KATE (HAMERA) DAVIS (Women's Cross Country/Track & Field, Class of 2004)
Hamera was a standout performer for the Lady Miners' cross country and track & field programs, earning All-America honors in both sports and numerous academic awards as well.  On the playing field, she landed All-America awards in cross country in 2003 as well as in track & field on three occasions, headed by a third place finish in the 1,500-meters at the 2003 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships.  Hamera captured the MIAA title in the mile and 3,000-meter events during the 2004 season and during her career, established six school records on an individual basis as well as three in relay events.  In the classroom, she was a two-time academic All-America selection, the NCAA Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2004 and NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Missouri in a year in which was also named as a finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship.  Her 2004 season was capped by being named as the first recipient of the Ken B. Jones Student-Athlete of the Year award by the MIAA.

BILL JOLLY (Men's Basketball, Class of 1993)
Jolly finished his playing career with the Miners as the school's all-time leading scorer and the holder of numerous records for the men's basketball program, earning All-America honors in the process.  A two-time All-South Central Region and three-time All-MIAA selection, Jolly was selected to the All-America squad by the NABC and Division II Bulletin following the 1992-93 season, when he led the MIAA in scoring with an average of 22.4 points per game.  In his four seasons in a Miner uniform, Jolly scored 1,920 points – the fifth-highest mark in MIAA history -- and connected a school-record 286 times from three-point range as well as 514 times from the free throw line.  He averaged 21.1 points over the final three seasons of a career that also saw him accumulate 251 assists and 122 steals, both of which rank among the top ten marks in Miner history.  Jolly scored 30 or more points on ten occasions in his Miner career.

1938 GOLF TEAM
The Miner golf team won the first conference title in school history during the 1938 season, capturing the first of its back-to-back MIAA titles.  The Miners were undefeated during the season and had strong showings from its top four players.  Floyd Watts served as the team's No. 1 player during the season, while Omar Walley, Buddy Clayton and Joe Carroll filled the other three spots on this championship squad.

2001-02 SWIMMING TEAM
The Miner swimming team, led by head coach Doug Grooms, recorded one of its top performances ever during the 2001-02 season, including a second place finish at the Central States Invitational and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships.  Among its 25 All-America efforts at the meet were national championships in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays by the quartet of Dave Belleville, Sean O'Donnell, Bram Olson and Mike Lach, including a defense of the 200-freestyle title won the previous year.  A total of 12 members of the team won at least one All-America award – including seven by Belleville – and all five relay teams finished among the top five nationally in the finals.  At the Central States meet, the Miners had seven event wins that included victories in four of the five relays.
