Andrew Young Named to Bevo Francis and Trevor Hudgins Award Watch Lists

2/22/2026 5:15:00 PM

ROLLA, MO  --  Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) from Missouri S&T's Men's Basketball continues to garner national attention, earning recognition on two different watch lists. Small College Basketball has named Young a top 25 candidate for the Trevor Hudgins award and advanced him to the top 50 on the Bevo Francis Award watch list.

Young leads the Miners in scoring, rebounding, and blocking this season, picking up five double doubles this year. He recorded a career-high 28 points in a game back this season, helping the Miners complete 15-point comeback on the road at Missouri-St. Louis in January. He ranks fifth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference for blocks per game with 1.2 BPG and seventh for shooting percentage at 50.6%.

About the Awards
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball per season.

The 2026 season marks the third time that the Trevor Hudgins Award will be awarded. The award is named in honor of Northwest Missouri State's Trevor Hudgins, who had a historic career with the Bearcats. Considerations for the Trevor Hudgins Award are overall career statistics and achievements, team achievements, awards, and personal character. The player must have played his entire career at the small college level. This is the highest award given to a four-year (or five-year) player within Small College Basketball. The overall intent of the Trevor Hudgins Award is two-fold: 1) To keep the collegiate legacy of Trevor Hudgins alive and continue to tell his story to the next generation, and 2) To provide a national platform to honor outstanding players – and ultimately one player – within small college basketball on an annual basis.
