Cooper Martin Welcomed as New Head Coach for Women’s Volleyball Program

2/25/2026 3:40:00 PM

ROLLA, MO  --  Missouri S&T Athletics has announced a change in leadership for Women’s Volleyball, welcoming Cooper Martin as the program’s fifth head coach. She takes over for previous head coach Jacquie Cason, who held the position for the previous two seasons.

Martin joins the Miners after a two-season stint with Drake University, serving as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. While with the Bulldogs she focused primarily on the offense, with an emphasis on working with setters.

Prior to Drake, Martin served as the Head Beach/Assistant Indoor volleyball coach at Southwest Baptist University for the 2023-2024 season. From 2021-23, Martin taught English and coached volleyball at Lubbock Christian High School where her team made consecutive state tournament appearances for the first time in school history.

Cooper brings a proven record of excellence from her time at Drake University, a highly competitive and academically strong NCAA Division I program, along with meaningful experience in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Her recruiting ties in the Midwest, value-driven approach in building a successful program, and genuine commitment to the student-athlete experience were key in our decision as we continue to elevate and build a championship-caliber volleyball program. We are thrilled to welcome her into the Miner family.
Missouri S&T Athletic Director Melissa Ringhausen

Martin graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Texas. There, Martin led her team to two consecutive state championship titles while earning MVP honors. Martin played and later coached indoor and beach volleyball at Texas Advantage Volleyball Club in Dallas, Texas. She then went on to play collegiate volleyball at Dallas Baptist University where she earned her degree in Sports Management.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the S&T volleyball program and Miner community. I want to give a special thank you to Melissa Ringhausen for her faith in me to lead this group of young women. Missouri S&T is an outstanding university with so much potential for success both on and off the court. I am excited to hit the ground running. Go Miners!
