Brown is the only player from a Great Lakes Valley Conference school named to the AFCA's All-America team and one of seven individuals from Super Region Four to be selected.
He is also the first from S&T chosen to the coaches' All-America team since Eivind Listerud was selected in 1993, which at the time was sponsored by Eastman Kodak. He is the fifth Miner in history to land a spot on the coaches' All-America team along with Listerud, Frank Winfield (1969), Merle Dillow (1974) and Bill Grantham (1980).
It also marks the third consecutive year and ninth time in the last 12 seasons in which a Miner player has been selected to an All-America squad;
Eddie Rascon (Canutillo, Texas/Canutillo) and
Chris Emesih (Houston, Texas/Westfield) earned the honors in each of the last two years from Beyond College Sports.
In addition to the AFCA honor, Brown also landed a spot on the Beyond College Sports all-region team for Super Region Four along with teammate
Daleroy Davey (Kansas City, Kan./Turner). Brown was a first team pick at cornerback, while Davey was named to the third team on the defensive line.
