(Kansas City, Kan.) – Missouri S&T's Kaitlyn Deister (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) added another award on Tuesday being named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Defensive Player of the Week for Division II. She joins five other players from NCAA Division I, II and III to win this week's award. Deister is the first S&T soccer player to win this award.

Deister, posted a pair of shutouts this past weekend leading the Lady Miners to a pair of 1-0 victories. The senior made 14 saves in net and extended her streak of not allowing a goal at home in GLVC play to 573:26 minutes. In the win on Friday, Deister came up big making six of her eight saves in the second half to preserve her third shutout of the season. Her biggest save came in the 82nd minute stopping a shot from point blank range. On Sunday she blanked Maryville making six saves including a couple of tough ones early in the second half to keep the game scoreless. She made three saves in each half to keep it scoreless and tallied her 11th shutout of her career. At home this season she's allowed a total of two goals in 512:47 and has a goals against average of 0.44 and a save percentage of .923. She was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Miners (4-6, 4-4 GLVC) head to Lebanon, Ill., on Friday to play McKendree at 5 p.m.
