Women's Soccer Pushes No. 5 Drury to Double Overtime in GLVC Semifinal Shootout

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer battled to the final whistle Friday night, playing No. 5-seeded Drury to a 1-1 draw through double overtime before falling 4-2 in penalty kicks in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Semifinals at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex.

The Miners (9-6-4, 6-5-4 GLVC) struck first in the 17th minute when Grace Kohler (Roca, NE/Norris) scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), giving S&T an early 1-0 lead. Drury responded less than two minutes later, evening the score at 1-1 on a goal by Holland Hawkins.

Both defenses stood tall from that point on, as neither side could find the go-ahead goal through regulation or two overtime periods. S&T outshot Drury 19-18, with Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) leading the Miners' attack with six shots, two on goal, while Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) added three shots.

Goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) anchored the defense with eight saves, including a dramatic stop on a penalty kick in the 98th minute to keep the match level. The back line of Kohler, Savannah Tully (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart), and Sarah Henze (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) stayed composed under pressure, limiting Drury's clean looks down the stretch.

In the penalty shootout, Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) and Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) converted for S&T, but Drury advanced 4-2 after five rounds.

Despite the result, the Miners close their 2025 campaign as one of the most successful in recent years, earning a GLVC Tournament berth, posting nine total wins, and recording eight shutouts on the season.
