S&T Women's Soccer Set for GLVC Semifinal Showdown With McKendree

11/2/2026 10:39:00 AM

ROLLA, Mo. — Missouri S&T women's soccer will continue its postseason run Thursday, facing McKendree in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals at 7 p.m. at the Cooper Sports Complex in Springfield, Missouri.

The Miners enter the semifinal round with an 11-4-2 overall record after a 3-1 comeback win over Rockhurst in Saturday's quarterfinal. Missouri S&T overcame a one-goal halftime deficit, scoring three times in the second half to secure its place in the final four.

Rockhurst opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, but the Miners responded shortly after halftime. Jenna Marti (Sammamish, WA/Eastside Catholic) tied the match in the 48th minute off an assist from Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit). Benassi then scored twice, finding the net in the 52nd and 56th minutes to give S&T control of the match. Marti and Haylee Prime (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange) assisted on Benassi's second goal.

Benassi finished with two goals and an assist, while Marti recorded a goal and an assist. Catie Riddle (Westland, MI/Churchill) made eight saves in goal to help preserve the victory.

McKendree enters Thursday's semifinal with a 15-2-2 overall record after defeating Drury in its quarterfinal matchup. The Bearcats have been one of the GLVC's top offensive teams this season, scoring 49 goals while allowing just 14 through 19 matches.

The Miners and Bearcats met during the regular season on Oct. 7 in Rolla, with Missouri S&T earning a 3-2 victory. Aubrey Case (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) clutched the final goal with ten seconds left in the match. S&T will look to build on that result as the two teams meet again with a spot in the GLVC Tournament championship game on the line.

"It's a big week!" starts Head Coach Matthew Perry. "We are excited. It's always hard to play teams twice in a year, so we have to approach a few things differently, but otherwise it's a normal week for us. Mentally, we are all focused on one common goal, and we are ready."

The Miners have scored 39 goals and allowed 21 across 18 matches this season. S&T has generated consistent offensive production while also receiving key contributions from its defense and goalkeeping unit.
