Miners entertain Robert Morris-Springfield to close three-game homestand

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T looks to bounce back from a loss Wednesday to Southeastern Oklahoma State when it wraps up its three-game season opening homestand Saturday night with a visit from Robert Morris-Springfield to the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.

The Miners wiped out a 14-point deficit early in the second half and nearly eliminated a nine-point Savage Storm lead later in the half before ending up on the losing end of a 79-72 decision. S&T shot only 33.3 percent from the field in the game and made only eight of their 36 three-point attempts.

Curtis Okafor (Kansas City, Mo./Bishop Miege), making his first start as a Miner, scored a career-high 19 points and Bryce Foster (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) posted his third career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Foster leads the Miners in scoring heading into Saturday's contest with an average of 23 points per game and is one of four S&T players in double figures along with Okafor, Mudiaga Eruteya (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame) and Nusrath Khan (Morton Grove, Ill./Maine East).

Robert Morris-Springfi eld dropped to 4-4 on Wednesday after losing 92-78 at Quincy. The Eagles got 29 points from Denzell Walker, who leads the team in scoring with an average of 22.7 points a game.
