Biography
2012-13: Played in six games before missing the balance of the season due to an injury...averaged 13.2 points and five rebounds a game during those six contests, scoring in double figures in five of them...had a season-high 19 points at Drury and a rebounding high of eight in the season opener against Emporia State...had nine assists and five steals while in the lineup...shot 42 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from three-point range and was eight-of-12 from the free throw line.
2011-12: Finished the year as the Miners’ second-leading scorer with an average of 10.5 points per game...tied for the team lead with 38 three-point baskets and also shot 75 percent at the free throw line…also contributed 39 assists, 20 steals and four blocked shots as he started in all 27 games…had 14 double figure scoring efforts during the season with a high of 26 in the victory at Maryville…also scored 21 against Illinois Springfield and 20 in the February win over William Jewell, a game in which he scored his 1,000th career point at S&T…had his only double-double of the season in the William Jewell as he added a season-high 11 rebounds and had 10 boards in S&T’s overtime road victory over GLVC West champion Missouri-St. Louis…along with the 26 points at Maryville, he had nine rebounds, a season-high four assists and connected five times from three-point range.
2010-11: Led the Miners in scoring for the second year in succession with an average of 14.9 points per game…ranked 12th in the GLVC in scoring…also averaged 5.3 rebounds a contest while adding 47 assists, 19 steals and six blocked shots…connected on 48.3 percent of his shots from the field, 37.3 percent from three-point range and 80.6 percent at the free throw line…scored in double figures in 19 of 25 games with a season-high of 24 against Drury…scored at least 20 points on seven occasions…had a stretch of 10 consecutive games where he scored in double figures in the latter half of the season…had a season-high 10 rebounds in the season opener against Blackburn when he recorded his first career double-double…posted a season-best six assists against Blackburn and Illinois-Springfield…had five steals at Maryville, the most by a Miner in a game during the year…ranked among the top 15 in the GLVC in rebounding and free throw percentage as well as in scoring.
2009-10: Was one of the top freshman scorers in the Great Lakes Valley Conference during his first season at S&T…averaged 13 points per game to lead the Miners in scoring, which ranked third among freshmen in the GLVC…scored a season-high 25 points in a victory over Lincoln…reached double figures in 23 of the Miners’ 28 games, including a stretch of 11 straight contests late in the season…had 21 points against Missouri Southern and Rockhurst and 19 in two other contests…rebounding high was nine in a game against Indianapolis…shot 46.5 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from three-point range and 80.3 percent at the free throw line…ranked 11th in the GLVC in free throw percentage…added 34 assists, seven blocks and 18 steals.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s all-state team and to the Suburban North all-conference first team following a standout senior season…averaged 18 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in his senior season as he helped lead the Hawks to the Missouri Class 5 quarterfinals…scored a season-high of 27 points against Webster Groves in a semifinal victory in the Meramec Holiday Tournament…finished 12th in the St. Louis area in scoring in the 2008-09 season…shot 50.4 percent from the field and 46.8 percent from three-point range, connecting on a team-high 73 treys…also shot 80.5 percent at the free throw line…finished the season with 68 assists, 24 steals and six blocked shots…scored 7.7 points – on a team that did not have a player who averaged in double figures but finished 18-9 and reached the district championship game – and 2.7 rebounds as a junior.
PERSONAL: Son of Greg Foster and Marie Foster…father, Greg, was a silver medalist in the 110-meter hurdles at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and a world record holder in the hurdles…older brother, Brandon, competed on the international track and field circuit…attended Hazelwood Central High School, where his coach was Josh Martin...majoring in business management.
