                     (Rolla, Mo.) - The Missouri S&T Miner soccer 11 return home to the friendly confines of the S&T Soccer Field this weekend to kick off a stretch that see's them play four of its next six games at home. The Miners open that stretch with a visit from the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE MINERS: Following a 2-0 loss Friday to No. 9-ranked Quincy, Missouri S&T's men's soccer team bounced back two days later to knock off Illinois Springfield 4-0 Sunday, moving back over the .500 mark for the season at 4-3-1 and to 3-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
In Sunday's game, 
Peter Haw (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West ) (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) scored just 11 seconds into play — the fastest goal in school history — to give the Miners the early lead in the victory. S&T also got goals from 
Timmy Kenny (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette), 
Jervis Atagana (Columbia, Mo./Hickman ) (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) and 
Brian Seawright (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) (Chesterton, Ind.) as they recorded their highest goal total in a game since
beating Indianapolis 4-0 on the final day of the 2010 regular season.
Matt Jackson (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City West) (Iowa City, Iowa) turned away three shots to record his second shutout of the year and lowered his goals against average to 0.62 for the season in the process. 
Donny Gesell (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West) (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West), who had the goalkeeping assignment at Quincy, owns a 1.20 goals against mark.
Kenny continues to lead the Miners in scoring with his three goals on the year, while 
Peter Haw (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West ) (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway West) and 
Diego Robayo (Snohomish, Wash./Snohomish) (Snomolish, Wash.) share the team lead with three assists apiece; both of them assisted on goals in Sunday's game.
THE OPPONENTS:
MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS: The Tritons (5-2, 4-1 GLVC) have been on a hot streak of late, winning four straight games in shutout fashion to move into third place in the conference standings. The recent run included an overtime victory over No. 5-ranked Rockhurst last week on a goal by Thomas Mihalczo.
Tyler Collico leads the Tritons in scoring with four goals and nine points, while goalkeeper Patrick Ream, the GLVC's “Player of the Week” has a 0.74 goals against average and four shutouts.
MARYVILLE: The Saints (2-7, 2-4 GLVC) enter play this weekend having lost its last three outings and have not scored a goal in any of the seven games they have lost this season. Maryville — who beat S&T a year ago when the Miners were ranked seventh nationally — have gotten two goals apiece from Gus Reinitz and Matt Bearly. Goalkeeper James Hohenstein has a
1.61 goals against average with 28 saves in 783 minutes of play.
