S&T had the answer as Julie Meyer scored four of the next six points to extend the lead to 24-16 giving it its largest lead of the half. It could have been more but Meyer went 2-for-5 at the foul line during that stretch.
NKU proceeded to score the next five points and cut it to a three-point game but Andrea Downs buried a long two right before the buzzer sending the Lady Miners into the locker room with a 26-21 advantage.
S&T converted on 44 percent (11-for-25) of its shots from the floor while holding the Norse to just 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) shooting. The Lady Miners were just 3-for-8 at the charity stripe while Northern Kentucky hit 6-fo-10.

The Norse opened the second half with a 6-1 run to tie the ball game up for just the second time at 27 all not quite two minutes in.
Meyer gave the Lady Miners the lead back with a jumper and that basket sparked a 16-8 run over the next six minutes. She scored the first five points in the run then Bell and Courtney Kemp converted back-to-back layups extending the lead six.
After NKU closed to within four Bell buried a three extending the lead back to seven before D'Naya Mimscapped the run with a lay-up at the 11:56 mark.
From there the Norse scored 13 of the next 16 points to take their first lead of the night on a three by Sadie Bowling with just over seven minutes remaining.

The Lady Miners closed to within one on four straight free throws by Percival and Hailee Parks just 0:50 later.
Neither side scored for the next 1:30 until Casse Mogan was able to get into the paint and score on a layup to push the margin back to three.
After a missed three by Kemp, Bell stole the ball, went hard to the basket and scored on a layup and was fouled in the process. She converted the free throw to tie the game back up at 56 all.
The Norse regained a two-point lead on a Mogan jumper with 1:31 to play. Downs missed a three on the ensuing possession but Parks was there for the put back to tie it back up with just over a minute to play.
NKU regained the lead 0:20 later when Bowling converted on 1-of-2 at the foul line making it 59-58. S&T had an opportunity to regain the lead but a turnover gave it back to the Norse and the Lady Miners were forced to foul.
They fouled Levering with 12.4 left and she hit 1-of-2 at the foul stripe to make it 60-58. After a timeout by S&T, Bell drove to the basket and had a layup to tie the game that rimmed out and NKU got the rebound.
Lantry was fouled with 1.8 seconds left and she hit 1-of-2 at the line and the Lady Miners last ditch effort came up short.
Both teams shot the bell well in the second half as S&T was 10-for-19 (52.6 percent) from the floor and 10-of-12 at the foul line. The Norse shot 60 percent (12-for-20) from the field but were just 8-of-17 at the foul line.
