Box Score The Missouri S&T Lady Miners volleyball squad lost a hard fought match with Quincy,
3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Rolla.
The opening game was a tough one featuring five ties and a lead change. Quincy (7-7, 1-3 GLVC) led for most of the set by as many as four before S&T (2-13, 0-5 GLVC) rallied back to tie the game at 20-20. The Hawks retook the lead scoring three of the next four points before the Lady Miners again tied it at 23. Trailing 24-23, S&T staved off the first game point on an attack error by QU, but were unable to win the set as Quincy captured the final two points.
In the second set the Lady Miners took an early three point lead but the Hawks came back to tie then built a six point lead late in the frame before S&T rallied to within 24-20 but were unable to get closer as Dani Bisesto's kill gave QU a 2-0 advantage.
Game three was another barn burner with the Hawks leading 17-13 before a 6-0 run by the Lady Miners gave them their first lead of the game since 9-7. S&T took a two point lead at 22-20 and was within a couple of points of forcing a fourth game but Quincy took advantage of a couple of S&T miscues and two straight kills by Katie Ebbing to get the victory.
Samantha Klump (Ash Grove, Mo./Homeschooled) had a great game for the Lady Miners recording 10 kills in 16 attempts with no errors for a .625 hitting percentage.
Danielle Kracl (Omaha, Neb./Burke) had 21 assists while
Bridget Williams (Topeka, Kan./Hayden) had 12 digs.
