Box Score Rolla, Mo. - The Missouri S&T Lady Miners fell in its season finale to Rockhurst
4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Missouri S&T Soccer Field in Rolla.
The Hawks (10-4-3, 7-2-3 GLVC) got on the board in the fourth minute when Lisa Schwarz knocked a shot off a S&T (7-8-2, 3-7-2 GLVC) defender that deflected into the goal. Rockhurst continued applying pressure early on getting a couple more chances but the Lady Miner defense held strong to keep the game 1-0.
S&T began to apply pressure of its own in the final 10 minutes of the stanza but were unable to get the equalizer as the Hawks went into the break with the one goal lead.
Rockhurst got its second goal almost eight minutes into the second frame as Amy Lindley tucked one inside the near post. The Hawks added two more goals in the last 10 minutes for the final margin.
The Lady Miners were able to get a couple of shots on net but couldn't sneak one past the keeper.
Despite the loss S&T still finished with the most wins in a season since 2003 when that squad won eight games.
