Box Score WILDER, Ky. - Tied at 1-1 going into the break the Missouri S&T Lady Miners gave up five goals in the second half to fall at Northern Kentucky
6-1 on Sunday afternoon in Wilder, Ky.
NKU (5-1, 2-1 GLVC) scored the game's first goal just 11 minutes when Kelly Sullivan scored on a pass from Kelly Snead. S&T (3-3-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) tied the game right before the break in the 40th minute on a goal from
Melia Miller (Richardson, Texas/J.J. Pearce) with an assist from
Melissa Young (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias).
The Norse controlled the match in the first half out shotting the Lady Miners 14-10 with eight being on goal compared to only three for S&T.
Kelsey Kurilla (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) kept the game close with her seven saves in the frame.
Northern Kentucky scored three goals in a four minute stretch to break the tie getting two from Lauren Franzen and a second one from Sullivan. The Norse added goals in the 75th and 88th minute for the final tally.
Kurilla stopped 10 of the 12 shots she faced in goal while Miller and Young paced the offense with four and three shots respectively.
