ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T cross country will return to action Saturday as the Miners travel to Joplin, Mo., to compete in the Southern Stampede, hosted by Missouri Southern.
The Missouri S&T men's team enters the meet after opening the 2026 season with a team victory at the Queen City After Dark in Springfield, Mo. The Miners scored 38 points to finish first in the team standings, placing three runners among the top 10 overall.
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) led the way for Missouri S&T by winning the individual race, while
Landon Duchscherer (Morrisville, MO/Marion C. Early) finished sixth and
Cole Reintjes (Wichita, KS/Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic) placed 10th.
Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) and
Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) rounded out the Miners' scoring, finishing 12th and 13th, respectively.
On the women's side,
Amanda Warren (Normal, IL/Normal Community West) paced Missouri S&T in the season opener with a 21st-place finish.
Aurora Amason (Centralia, IL/Centralia) followed in 30th, while
Molly Hays (Blue Springs, MO/Blue Springs South),

Anna Beutelmann (Clayton, MO/Clayton) completed the Miners' top five.
The men's team is currently ranked sixth regionally, the highest ranking the team has had since 2010. They are also receiving votes nationally for the first time since 2007. The Southern Stampede will give Missouri S&T another chance to strengthen its team packs.
"I think we are in a good spot," says Head Coach
Cameron Knudsen. "We've been doing a lot of things well in practice, and we executed well last week, so if we can do what we're capable of, we will have a good result on both sides."
