JOPLIN, Mo. -- Missouri S&T's Cross Country teams completed their second meet of the season this Saturday, with the men taking third and the women taking eleventh.
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) and
Amanda Warren (Normal, IL/Normal Community West) were the top finishers for their each team, with Born placing second and Warren taking 38th.
The women's team finished 11th in their 5k with an average time of 20:00. Warren,
Aurora Amason (Centralia, IL/Centralia),
Molly Hays (Blue Springs, MO/Blue Springs South), and
Kristen Ely (Houston, MO/Houston) all finished in the top 100.
Isabella Hacker (Breese, IL/Mater Dei) rounded out the Miners' top five, crossing in a personal-best time of 21:21.8.
The men earned third, with two men finishing in the top ten. Born's time of 24:07.1 earned him a second-place finish, while
Landon Duchscherer (Morrisville, MO/Marion C. Early) finished in 9th with a new personal-best time of 24:47.3. Duchscherer was one of ten Miners to set a new personal-best, joining Pye, Janovick, Falkner, Reintjes, Mourning, Liebetreu, Nziramasanga, Dean, and
Michael D'Andrea (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette).
What's Next
The Miners' next meets will be October 10th and 11th, with the team set to split up and compete at both the Brian T. Simpson Invite and the NCAA Division II Pre-Nationals.
