Miners Earn Four All-Conference Honors, Headlined by Young on First Team

INDIANAPOLIS, IN  --  Missouri S&T Men's Basketball has received four all-conference honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) for the second consecutive season. Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) was named First Team for the second year in a row, Blaise Beauchamp (Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins) and Cameron Stovall (St. Louis, MO/Vashon) both earned Second Team honors while Adam Rickman (Washington, MO/St. Francis Borgia) as named All-Defensive. Darron Henry (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly) was S&T's honoree for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award.

Young has led the 19-8 Miners in scoring this season, averaging 16.7 points per game and a 50.8 shooting percentage that is seventh best in the conference. He led the team with 30 blocks, averaging the second most blocks per GLVC game in the conference with 1.4. He has earned national recognition from Small College Basketball, being named to both the Trevor Hudgins and Bevo Francis award watchlists.

Beauchamp and Stovall both earned second team honors, with both men scoring career-highs in recent games to help the Miners pick up key conference victories over Lincoln and Illinois Springfield. Beauchamp has averaged 17.9 points per game against GLVC opponents, the fifth highest mark in the conference. Many of those points have come from long range, with the senior shooting 44.8% from the three. Stovall has stepped up when key buckets were needed this season, averaging 13.6 points per game including a 42-point performance against UIS.

Rickman has been one of the best defenders in the conference all year. His 58 steals are the fourth most in a season in Miner history and rank him second in the conference with 2.1 steals per game. Nationally, Rickman ranks 33rd in steals per game.
