Miners Hosting Jamestown for GLVC Pair; Senior Day on Saturday

ROLLA, Mo.  --  Missouri S&T Men's Volleyball will be hosting the Jamestown Jimmies over the weekend, with matches set for 6pm on Friday and 2pm for Saturday's Senior Day match. Saturday's Senior Day ceremony will begin at 2pm, where nine Miners will be recognized for their contributions to the program.

VENUE NOTE: Gibson Arena will be cash only during both matches this week. This includes tickets and concessions.
 
About the Miners
S&T is 8-5 and even at 2-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matches, splitting their pairs against Roosevelt and Rockhurst. The team is top 20 in the nation for kills, assists, digs, and hitting percentage, ranking 11th with a .325 in the latter.

Grant Edmonds (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) continued his dominant season last week with strong performances against Rockhurst that earned him his fifth GLVC Setter of the Week award this season. He remains ranked fourth in the country for assists per set with 10.33. Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) and Bartosz Chmielewski (Aurora, IL/Metea Valley) both sit in the top 20 individually as well, with Meyer ranking 16th in kills per set (3.69) and 18th in hitting percentage (.367) while Chmielewski is 20th in digs per set with 2.24.
 
About the Jimmies
Jamestown is 6-15 this season and are struggling in GLVC competitions with an 0-4 record. They have yet to win their first set in a GLVC match after being swept by Rockhurst and Quincy. The Jimmies are hitting .224 through their first 21 matches, averaging 11.03 kills per set.

Chase Hawkinson leads the Jimmies in points per set, averaging 4.13 and ranking second in the conference behind Meyer. Hawkinson also leads the GLVC in kills per set, averaging 3.74. Ethan Carroll has been one of the best defenders in the conference, averaging the fourth-most blocks per set with 0.81.
 
What's Next
S&T travels west for another GLVC pair with matches against Southwest Baptist on March 27th and 28th.
