Nate Meyer Becomes First Miner to Earn AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Missouri S&T men's volleyball earned its first-ever All-American recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) was named Honorable Mention.

Meyer's AVCA All-American honor caps a standout senior season for the Arlington Heights, Illinois native. He posted a .370 hitting percentage, finishing the regular season ranked 12th nationally. Meyer also placed 12th in the country in points per set (4.39) and 15th in kills per set (3.71).

Meyer led the Miners in points, kills, and service aces, while rewriting the program record book.. Meyer set new single-season records with 409 points and 346 kills, surpassing his own previous marks. He also tied the school record for blocks in a three-set match with six during the GLVC Championship.

In addition, Meyer made history as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's first-ever Player of the Year in the league's inaugural season. He earned First Teamm All-GLVC honors, along with two GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honors and one Defensive Player of the Week award.

Meyer played a pivotal role in leading the Miners to the program's first GLVC Tournament Championship. Missouri S&T defeated No. 2 Rockhurst before sweeping No. 1 Maryville to claim the title. Meyer was named to the All-Tournament Team after hitting .409 in the championship match, adding two service aces and a program-record six blocks.
