ST. LOUIS AND SPRINGFIELD, MO  --  Missouri S&T Baseball will play four different opponents this week, heading to St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri. The Miners will start with a trip to Missouri-St. Louis on Wednesday for a single game against the Tritons before facing Washburn, Indianapolis, and Drury at the Drury Invitational over the weekend.

About the Miners
Miner Baseball is 4-1 this season and have won their last four in a row. The team showed steady improvement in their three game opening series against Wayne State, ending that series with a +5 run differential before picking up two blowout wins against Missouri Valley in last week's doubleheader.

The team is hitting .353 this year, with five Miners batting at or above .500 so far. Drew Baugus' (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) .615 batting average and 4 stolen bases leads the team, with the former leading the conference, while Scott Thompson (Greeley, CO/University) leads the Miners in RBIs with seven after a six RBI performance in game two against Missouri Valley. Logan Slinkard's (Affton, MO/Lutheran South) 1.59 ERA is the best on the team currently, while Jake Schisler (Quincy, IL/Quincy Notre Dame) holds the most strikeouts this season with seven.

About the Tritons
Missouri-St. Louis had a rough start to the season, losing three of their first four in either blowouts or extra innings. The Tritons have won three games since then, improving their record to 4-7. The team is hitting at .250 while allowing opponents to hit at .305.

Eli Cartwright is UMSL's best pitcher this season, holding a 1.15 ERA that starkly contrasts the team's mark of 7.67. The Tritons' leading batter is Justin Terhaar, a freshman from Troy, Illinois that is hitting .390 in 41 at bats.
