ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T battled into overtime Saturday afternoon at Gibson Arena but came up just short in a 73-70 loss to Southwest Baptist in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Miners (10-14, 6-12 GLVC) erased a second-half deficit with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Bearcats 21-13 to force overtime. Missouri S&T shot 38.5 percent in the second half and overtime combined and knocked down 7-of-21 (33.3%) from three-point range in the contest, while converting 25-of-29 (86.2%) at the free throw line.
Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) led the Miners with 19 points, adding six rebounds in 41 minutes of action.
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) added 15 points and seven assists, while
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, including three three-pointers .
Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) posted 10 rebounds to go along with eight points, helping S&T hold a 44-36 advantage on the glass.
After trailing 47-39 at the end of the third quarter, the Miners found rhythm offensively in the fourth. Finley knocked down a pair of clutch threes, and Marraccini converted key free throws to help S&T take a brief lead late. In overtime, Missouri S&T tied the game at 63 on a Gum three and later cut it to one with 16 seconds remaining on a Marraccini triple, but Southwest Baptist sealed the game at the line.

Missouri S&T returns to Gibson Arena next week, hosting Lincoln on Thursday, February 26 before closing out the regular season at home against Drury on Saturday, February 28 for Senior Day.
