ROSEMONT, Ill. – Missouri S&T softball dropped a 4–1 decision to Grand Valley State on Thursday evening at the Rosemont Dome Invite.
Grand Valley State struck first in the opening inning, using an RBI single to take a 1–0 lead. The Lakers added to their advantage in the second with an RBI double to extend the margin to 2–0 and later added insurance runs to secure the victory.
The Miners battled throughout the contest and generated scoring opportunities, collecting seven hits and drawing four walks.
Molly Fitzgerald (Crystal Lake, IL/Marian Central Catholic) accounted for S&T's lone RBI, finishing 1-for-4 at the plate.
Jordyn Davis (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) provided a spark from the seven-hole, going 2-for-2 to lead the team in hits, while
AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) reached base twice via walk.
Agers took the ball in the circle for the Miners, working 5.1 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out two and walking one. S&T kept the game within reach but was unable to string together timely hits against the Lakers' starter, who went the distance and limited the Miners to one run.
Grand Valley State was paced offensively by multiple hitters with two hits, while four different players drove in runs in the balanced attack.

Missouri S&T concludes play at the Rosemont Dome Invite on Friday with a pair of games, taking on St. Cloud State at 9 a.m. before facing Ferris State at 1:30 p.m.
