INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Missouri S&T Men's Volleyball's
Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) and
Grant Edmonds (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) have been named the recipients of the Great Lakes Valley Conference's first-ever player of the week (POTW) awards. Meyer won both offensive and defensive player of the week, while Edmonds was voted setter of the week. The stats from S&T's matches against #16 Ball State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Dominican (NY) were all included in this week's POTW nominations.
Meyer earns offensive player of the week after recording 72 kills in 4 matches, hitting .359 on 153 attempts as the Miners went 3-1 with wins over Purdue Fort Wayne, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Dominican (NY) while even taking a set off of #16 Ball State. His best match came against Dominican where he recorded 26 kills to just 3 errors for a .500 hitting percentage and totaled 30.0 points, surpassing 1000 career points and 100 career aces in the process. Meyer's defensive player of the week accolades begin with tying for the most blocks through the first four matches, recording 12 assists and 2 solos including 5 blocks against Fairleigh Dickinson. He led the team in both solo blocks with 2 and had the second-most digs at 33. Additionally, Meyer added 6 aces.
Edmonds recorded 175 assists in the first four matches of the season, leading to his setter of the week award. He had two matches with 50 assists, one of which came against Dominican (NY) where he set a new record for individual assists in a 4-setter as well as aided in a new team record for assists in a 4-set match.

The Miners travel to St. Louis area for matches against Lindenwood and McKendree next week.
