Case’s Record-Breaking Goal Lifts Miners to 1-1 Draw with No. 11 Maryville

ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T women's soccer earned a 1-1 draw against No. 11 Maryville on Sunday afternoon at Allgood-Bailey Stadium, highlighted by a record-breaking opening strike from Aubrey Case (Yorktown, VA/Tabb).

The Miners stunned the nationally ranked Saints just 14 seconds into the match when Case buried her first career goal, assisted by Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit). The finish marked the fastest goal in program history, giving S&T immediate momentum against one of the GLVC's top teams

From there, S&T's defense held strong behind goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain), who tallied six saves while keeping the Saints off the scoreboard for more than 83 minutes. Maryville eventually found the equalizer in the 84th minute, but the Miners continued to battle through the final whistle to secure the result.

With the draw, Missouri S&T moves to 3-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in GLVC play.

What's Next
The Miners return to action Friday, October 3, when they travel to face Missouri-St. Louis before visiting Maryville again on Sunday, October 5.
