ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T women's soccer battled through a physical match Friday night at Allgood-Bailey Stadium but fell 1-0 to Missouri-St. Louis in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
The Miners created chances from the opening whistle, generating nine shots in the first half and three corner kicks to keep the Tritons under pressure. Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) led the attack with seven shots, including two on goal, while Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) added three attempts and forced a late save in the 84th minute.
In the midfield, Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) and Aubrey Case (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) kept play moving forward, combining for four shots, while Savannah Tully (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart) and Grace Kohler (Roca, NE/Norris) anchored the back line to limit UMSL to just 13 total shots. Goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) turned in a strong performance with six saves, including several key stops in the second half to keep the Miners within striking distance.
The decisive moment came in the 84th minute when UMSL's Ella Anselm scored off a cross, but S&T continued to press until the final whistle, finishing with an 18-13 edge in total shots.
With the result, Missouri S&T moves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in GLVC play.

The Miners will return to the pitch on Sunday, September 28, as they host Maryville in another GLVC matchup at Allgood-Bailey Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
