Women's Volleyball Hits the Road for Hampton Inn Invitational

KENOSHA, Wis. - Women's volleyball is set to gear up for its first road trip of the 2025 campaign, competing in the Hampton Inn Invitational at the Alfred and Bernice De Simone Arena.

On Friday, September 12, S&T will take on Bemidiji State at 9 a.m., before facing Roosevelt in the evening at 4:30 p.m. Day two will begin at 11 a.m. for the Miners as they compete against Winona State, followed by a matchup with Wisconsin-Parkside later that day at 6 p.m.

About the Miners
S&T opened its 2025 campaign by hosting the Missouri S&T Volleyball Tournament, posting a 1-3 record. The Miners earned their lone victory against Christian Brothers in four sets, with scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, and 25-17. Offensively, Selin Ozdemir (Ankara, Turkey/TED Ankara Koleji) and Elly Decker (Manhattan, IL/Lincoln Way West) led the way with 11 and 10 kills,  respectively. On the defensive end, Elise Mehaffy (Marion, IA/Marion) and Elly Decker (Manhattan, IL/Lincoln Way West) each tallied 10 digs.

Overall, the Miners are led by Ozdemir, who is averaging 2.53 kills per set, and Annie Arrand, who contributes 4.13 assists and 1.93 digs per set. Kate Zipprich (Hardin, IL/Calhoun) anchors the net with a dominant 1.4 blocks per set.

About the Beavers
Bemidiji State is off to a slow start, posting a 0-4 start after competing in the Eckerd Classic. The Beavers are led by Lily Riese, who is averaging 3.29 kills per set, and Madison Tripp, who contributes 5.06 assists per set. Kyle Struble leads the backcourt with 3.94 per set.

About the Lakers
Roosevelt currently holds a 1-3 record after competing in the UIS Invitational, where they defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in four sets. Offensively, Aleksandra Barac averages 2.4 kills per set, while Cydney Martinez contributes three digs per set and leads the team in service aces with seven.

About the Warriors
Winona State began its 2025 season with a 2-2 record after sweeping Northwood and earning the four-set victory against Upper Iowa. Kenna Kornely leads the offense with 4.63 kills per set, while Ashlyn Stedding adds 6.50 assists per set. Anna Hennessy anchors the defense with 4.19 digs per set.

About the Rangers
Host Wisconsin-Parkside sports a 3-0 record after sweeping Tiffin and Thomas More, and defeating the University of Indianapolis in a hard-fought five set match. Sam Fisch leads the offense with 3.8 kills per set, and Lucy Russ paces the team with 10.91 assists per set. Defensively, Natalie Harris averages 5.55 digs per set for the Rangers.

What's Next
The Miners travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to compete in the UCM Challenge on September 19-20.
