ROLLA, MO  --  Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) continues to collect accolades following a record-shattering season, with the standout track star now earning First Team Academic All-America honors from College Sports Communicators.

Fraser earned numerous awards during the 2025 outdoor track and field season, picking up All-Conference honors in the hammer, discus, and shot put, with victories in the latter two events. He also received Midwest All-Region recognition in both the shot put and discus and was named GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Fraser qualified for nationals in all three events, entering the discus as the favorite with a season-best mark of 60.90 meters — a distance 2.72 meters farther than any other competitor in Division II. He dominated the discus championship, throwing farther than the rest of the field on every attempt and earning the title of NCAA Division II Discus Champion.

Fraser's dedication to academics has also garnered significant recognition. A Kummer Vanguard Scholar with a 4.0 cumulative GPA, he earned his second consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and was named a GLVC Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar for maintaining a perfect GPA this year.
