COLUMBIA, MO -- Connor Benjamin (Nelson Bay, Australia/St. Philip's Christian College) is competing in the 118th Missouri Amateur Championship this week at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. He has advanced through the first two days of stroke play and begins match play today after making yesterday's cut.
Benjamin shot a 77 in round one of stroke play, 6 over on the par 71 course, ending the day near the projected cut of +7. He went on to shoot a 69 on day two, finishing stroke play at +4 and tied for 30th with one of the best round 2 performances in the tournament.
Benjamin is seeded 32nd in match play and will face off against former Missouri Southern student-athlete Fabian Oechsle in the round of 64. Tee time is 8:10am today.
