ROLLA, MO  --  Fifty-eight Missouri S&T student-athletes earned the title of Great Lakes Valley Conference Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholars after maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2024–25 academic year. The award is named after the former president at Lewis University and a two-time chair of the league's Council of Presidents.

S&T's 58 honorees were part of a GLVC record 584 Distinguished Scholars this year, beating the previous record of 582 that was originally set in 2021-22. Of Missouri S&T's 58 honorees, 17 came from the men's track & field program, with 9 of those student-athletes also competing on the men's cross country team. Football followed with 10 selections, while men's soccer had 7. On the women's side, women's basketball and women's soccer led the way with six honorees each.
