NEW ORLEANS, LA -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released their all-region nominees for the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field season today with six Miners earning honors for the Midwest Region.
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) headlined the S&T squad again, this time being the only S&T student-athlete to make all-region for two events, earning the honors for his performances in the discus and the shot put. Fraser was joined by two other throwers in
Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista), who won the Javelin at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, and
Rhet Liley (Jackson, MO/Jackson), who also made all-region for javelin.
Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) and
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) both were honored for their work in multis... Knittel in the decathlon and Wright in the heptathlon.
Henry Born's (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) work in the 5000m was strong enough to earn him all-region too.
