ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Baseball is set to rematch Pittsburg State at home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Series History
The Gorillas are 41-15 all-time against the Miners dating back to 1991. Pittsburg State won their last matchup just over a month ago on Mar. 5. In a very back-and-forth game, the Gorillas won 8-7 at Al Ortolani Field. In that game,
Nick Hooper (Grain Valley, MO/Grain Valley) drove in three runs, while Dagen Brewer homered for Pittsburg State. The Gorillas have won their last two games against S&T.
About the Gorillas
Pittsburg State comes to Rolla on a 12-game winning streak with a 30-7 overall record and 19-7 MIAA record. This past weekend, they defeated Rogers State in a three-game series, highlighted by a 15-1 win on Sunday. Brewer homered twice and Tanner Leslie tossed six scoreless innings in that game.
The Gorillas sit in third place in the MIAA after their 3-0 weekend. Their .321 batting average and 3.97 ERA both lead the MIAA. Alex Rodgers leads the team with his .404 batting average, while Brewer has 13 doubles and 13 home runs. Kolby Dougan's 2.03 ERA is 22
nd in the nation.
About the Miners
S&T is 21-15 overall and 13-11 in the GLVC following a split against Drury over the weekend. The Miners currently sit in seventh place in the GLVC standings. They defeated the Panthers in games one and three, but fell in games two and four. In their 11-7 game one win,
Drew Baugus (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) was 4-for-5 with a walk, two RBI, three runs and three stolen bases.
