ROLLA, Mo. – Following a 10-game road trip, Missouri S&T Baseball is back at home this weekend to face Drury.
Series History
Drury is 41-35 all-time versus Missouri S&T dating back to 1969. In their series in Springfield last season, they split their four-game series.
About the Panthers
Drury is 19-17 this season with a 9-7 record in the GLVC. They are one spot above S&T in the GLVC standings in fifth place. They are coming off a 3-1 series loss against Missouri-St. Louis at home last weekend. Gabe Russell was 3-for-4 with two doubles in their latest 7-4 loss against the Tritons.
Jackson Crider leads the Panthers with his .432 batting average and 1.255 OPS. His 51 hits lead the GLVC. He has also slugged eight home runs with seven doubles and one triple. Gage Hayes has a 4.57 ERA this season, the ninth-best mark in the GLVC. Drury was picked to finish in fourth place in the GLVC this season.
About the Miners
S&T is 19-13 overall and 11-9 in the GLVC so far this season. This past Wednesday, they scored a season-high 18 runs against Trevecca Nazarene with an 18-7 win. In that game,
Bricen Smith (Perry, GA/Mount de Sales Academy) was 5-for-5 with a walk, three doubles, four RBI and four runs scored.
Tyler Prince (Mexico, MO/Mexico) and
Drew Baugus (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) both had three hits.
Will Beckham (Mountain Home, AR/Mountain Home) leads the team with his .397 batting average. He is on an eight-game hitting streak with nine extra-base hits this season. Smith is second with a .372 batting average and Prince leads the team with six home runs.
Jake Schisler (Quincy, IL/Quincy Notre Dame) is second in the GLVC with a 3.66 ERA.
Ethan Morrow's (Lenexa, KS/Shawnee Mission West) 4.21 ERA is fifth in the conference. S&T's combined ERA of 4.96 is first in the GLVC, while their .320 batting average is second.
