ASHLAND, Ohio – Missouri S&T Golf claimed second place at the Ashland Spring Invitational, highlighted by
Cole Komyati's (Elberta, AL/Bayside Academy) second-place finish.
In round one, Connor Benjmain carded a 68 to lead the Miners. He recorded four birdies and an eagle through the first 18 holes.
Cole Komyati (Elberta, AL/Bayside Academy) recorded a 71 and
Nicolas Estrada (Zaragoza, Spain/IES Valdespartera) turned in a 74.
Isaac To (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia/Real International School) recorded a 70 in the second round to lead the Miners with his three birdies. Benjamin was next with a 71 and Komyati collected a 72. Estrada carded a 73 and
Rizq Adam Rohizam () rounded out S&T with his 74.
In the final round on Sunday, Komyati had a day to remember. He shot a 67 with his four birdies, one eagle and a double eagle. He finished the weekend in second place with a total score of 210. He finished two strokes behind first place.
Benjamin picked up fourth place for S&T with his 213, while To turned in a ninth place finish. Estrada rounded out the top four with 14
th place.
For S&T, it is their seventh invitational in the top two and their eighth in the top three. This spring, they have two first place trophies and two second place finishes with one invitational to go.
What's Next
Missouri S&T will go to the Ken Partridge Invitational this weekend from Apr. 6-8 in Noblesville, Indiana. After that, the GLVC Championships are next on Apr. 20-22 in Bolivar, Missouri.
