ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Baseball will host #12 Harding on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. for their first mid-week home game of the season.
Series History
In their all-time history, Harding is 14-4 against Missouri S&T going back to 1977. These two teams faced each other for the first time since 2013 last year. S&T won two games with a 6-3 win on the road and a thrilling 15-14 victory at home.
About the Bison
The #12 Bison are 17-4 this season with a 9-3 record in the GAC. They are coming off a series loss against Henderson State over the weekend. In their lone 10-6 win against Henderson State on Friday, Cooper Newsome homered with his three hits, two runs and three RBI. Nathan Bowie tallied two RBI for Harding.
Collin Helms has a .435 batting average with a 1.241 OPS and 22 RBI to lead Harding this season. He is slugging .667 with just eight strikeouts in 69 at-bats. Starter Maddox Long leads the team with his 0.91 ERA and 58 punchouts in six starts. Harding was picked to finish in second in the GAC following their 37-win season in 2024.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 8-5 overall this season with their 2-2 GLVC record. They split their four-game set with Missouri-St. Louis over the weekend with wins in game one and four. In their 11-10 thrilling win over the Tritons,
Drew Baugus (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) drove in three runs, while
Alexander DiGiacinto (Richmond Hill, ON, CA/Cardinal Carter) plated two.
Garrett Meyer (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) is atop S&T with his .372 batting average in all 13 games started. He has recorded a 1.128 OPS with his 16 hits, five doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI this season.
Dylan Bates (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) has a 2.25 ERA this year to lead the Miners. In 16 innings, he has recorded 16 punchouts with a .179 batting average against.
