FAYETTE, Iowa – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball, led by a career-high 29 points from 
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville), took down Upper Iowa 57-55 on Saturday.
The Peacocks had their most successful quarter in the first where they won it 23-15. Upper Iowa's early five-point lead quickly turned into a seven-point lead midway through the quarter. A 6-2 run at the end of the first quarter made the score 23-15 in favor of the Peacocks. 
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) drained two three-pointers in the quarter.
Following a 20-14 second quarter from Upper Iowa, they held a 43-29 lead at halftime. Finley had all 14 points for the Miners in the second quarter. She made it a five-point game with 7:32 left. Upper Iowa's 14-2 run made it a 17-point game and they went into the locker room with a 14-point lead. Finley picked up 20 points in the first half on 7-for-10 shooting and 4-for-5 three-point shooting.
 S&T dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Peacocks 17-3. Upper Iowa's only three points was with 8:44 left in the quarter. The Miners went on a 17-0 run the rest of the quarter to tie up the game at 46-46. 
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) recorded 12 points in the quarter for Missouri S&T.
The Miners won the game 57-55 after they outscored the Peacocks 11-9 in the fourth quarter. 
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) drained a three-point shot with 3:23 left in the game to give S&T their first lead of the game. Finley and 
Chorus Davis (Kansas City, MO/Lincoln College Prep) both hit two free throws to Helen Staley's one to increase the lead to 57-53. The Peacocks hit two free throws but could not drain two shots in the final minute as the Miners won 57-55.
 Finley collected a career-best 29 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Her 9-for-15 field goal shooting and 4-for-7 three-point shooting led the game. Roberts had 15 points and six rebounds, while Gum picked up seven points and eight rebounds.
Missouri S&T shot 39.6% from the field and 27.8% from beyond the arc. They had 34 rebounds with 24 points of their 57 points in the paint. The score in this game only changed one time and was tied three times. They dominated Upper Iowa in the second half, outscoring them 28-12.
With the win, the Miners passed the Peacocks in the GLVC standings and moved into seventh place. They are now 12-8 overall and 7-7 in the conference, one spot above Truman and one place below McKendree.
This win was also head coach 
Kira Carter's 50
th win at Missouri S&T. She is just the fifth coach in 50 years to earn 50 wins, joining Alan Eads, Linda Roberts, Mary Ortelee and Annette Caruso.
