ROLLA, Mo. – After multiple reschedules, Missouri S&T is set to play Southwest Baptist on Monday and Tuesday in Springfield.
Series History
The Miners are 50-46 all-time against Southwest Baptist dating back to 1972. S&T is on a 10-game winning streak with their last loss on May 1, 2021. In their latest four-game series back in 2023, S&T outscored the Bearcats 59-15.
About the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist is 3-3 this season but have not played since Feb. 14 due to two canceled series versus Newman and Purdue Northwest. They won a four-game series versus Southern Nazarene to open the year but lost two games against Rogers State on Feb. 14. The Bearcats went 14-36 last season with an 11-25 record in the GLVC.
Raydley Legito leads the team with a .350 batting average, while Xie Ferguson has a 1.012 OPS to lead SBU. On the pitching side, Roberto Garcia has a 1.29 ERA in seven innings. Starter Ryan McClish's 13 strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings lead the team.
About the Miners
S&T is 0-1 this season with their lone loss at Missouri Southern back on Feb. 17. The Lions walked off the Miners in the ninth inning as they won 3-2.
Tyler Prince (Mexico, MO/Mexico) went 2-for-3 in that game with a run scored. Strater
Dylan Bates (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) pitched seven scoreless innings for the Miners. He gave up just three hits and two walks.
Prince had two of the five hits for the Miners in that game.
Will Beckham (Mountain Home, AR/Mountain Home),
Denton Damgaard (Colorado Springs, CO/Cheyenne Mountain HS) and
Nick Krodinger (DeSoto, MO/DeSoto) all had one hit for Missouri S&T. In their last series against the Bearcats, the Miners had a historic performance with a 26-7 victory on Apr. 7, 2023. They also recorded 8-0, 13-5 and 12-3 victories against the Bearcats in that series.

Monday, Feb. 24, 2025: Missouri S&T versus Southwest Baptist at 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025: Missouri S&T versus Southwest Baptist, 11 a.m. (Game 1, 9 innings)
Missouri S&T versus Southwest Baptist, 2:30 p.m. (Game 2, 9 innings)
Every game will be played at Meador Park in Springfield, Missouri. With these changes, the Miners have pushed back their home opener to Saturday at 12 p.m. The second game of that doubleheader is at 3 p.m., while Sunday's games are slated for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
What's Next
Following the Truman series this upcoming weekend, the Miners will go to Pittsburg State on Mar. 5 at 3 p.m. They will come back home on Mar. 7-9 to face Missouri-St. Louis to kick off GLVC play.
