Women's Basketball Drops Tight GLVC Road Contest at Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. — Missouri S&T women's basketball battled throughout but came up short in a 74–67 road loss to Quincy on Thursday night at Pepsi Arena.

The Miners (3–3, 1–1 GLVC) traded runs with the Hawks in a back-and-forth matchup that featured seven ties and nine lead changes, staying within one possession on multiple occasions before Quincy pulled away late.

Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) powered the Miners' offense, finishing with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding six rebounds and five assists in an all-around performance.

Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) tallied eight points and six boards. Avery McCulla anchored the post with six points and eight rebounds, contributing to S&T's strong night on the glass.

Off the bench, Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) provided a major spark with nine points, including a key three in the second quarter that helped S&T build momentum. Savannah Campbell (Rolla, MO/Rolla) added five points and went a perfect 3-for-3 from the line, while Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) chipped in four points, three assists, and three steals.

Missouri S&T outrebounded Quincy 39–26, including 10 offensive boards, converting second-chance opportunities and generating 36 points in the paint.

Despite S&T shooting a solid 42.6% from the field, Quincy's ability to capitalize from the perimeter (8 made threes) and at the free-throw line (20-for-26) proved to be the difference.
