ROLLA, MO -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has released their newest rankings of Division II programs, with Missouri S&T falling from #10 to #17. The Miners drop comes in the wake of an 83-76 loss to Western Washington on Saturday evening.
The Miners were #10 when they left for Las Vegas last week. They started out the Great Western Shootout with a 71-68 victory over Simon Fraser who is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the country. S&T would fall to Western Washington the following day though, losing and dropping to 8-2 after a late surge by the Vikings.
Missouri S&T is now the only Great Lakes Valley Conference team in the rankings after Upper Iowa dropped out following a, 83-80 loss to Roosevelt University. Michigan Tech has moved up to #5 in the rankings and is the highest ranked team in the Midwest region.
What's Next
Missouri S&T will be back home the first week of the new year, hosting William Jewell and Truman State as they return to in-conference competition.
