Miners move up to fifth in latest national rankings

12/2/2025 12:53:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo. – Heading into the continuation of an early season Great Lakes Valley Conference road stretch, Missouri S&T's men's basketball team moved up one spot to fifth in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches rankings for NCAA Division II.

The rise to the fifth spot in the poll matches the highest ranking ever reached by a Missouri S&T men's basketball team, as it was ranked fifth for two weeks last season.  The second of those two weeks saw the Miners play games at Quincy and Upper Iowa – the two locations where S&T will play later this week, beginning with Thursday's matchup in Quincy.

S&T improved to 4-0 on the season Monday with its 99-87 win in its GLVC opener at Lincoln, but that victory was not reflected in this week's poll as only games through Sunday are considered for the weekly rankings.  The Miners did move up, however, in part due to Point Loma's loss at Seattle Pacific on Saturday as the Sea Lions were ranked fourth a week ago.

The top three teams remain the same in the rankings, as Nova Southeastern, Washburn and Daemen stayed in those spots.  Last week's fifth-ranked team, Lubbock Christian, moved up to fourth this week.
