Tolen’s Career-High 15 Points Power Miners Past Spalding

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball put together a complete performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Division III Spalding University 85-47 at Gibson Arena.

The Miners controlled the game from the opening tip, jumping out to a 32-12 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. S&T shot 66.7 percent in the opening frame and used aggressive defense and strong rebounding to build a commanding halftime advantage.

Adrianne Tolen (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) led the way with a career-high 15 points, knocking down three three-pointers and adding seven rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench. Savannah Campbell (Rolla, MO/Rolla) followed with a season-high 14 points, while also pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out two assists.

Missouri S&T showcased its depth throughout the afternoon, with ten players scoring and the bench contributing 40 points. Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) added 12 points and four rebounds, while Kiarra Kilgore (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg) chipped in 10 points on efficient shooting. Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) finished with nine points, six rebounds, and three assists, and Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) contributed eight points and six boards in the paint.

The Miners dominated the glass, outrebounding Spalding 47-28, and turned defense into offense with 18 points off turnovers. S&T also held a 40-18 edge in points in the paint and shot 49.2 percent from the field for the game.

With the win, Missouri S&T improves to 5-4 overall.

Missouri S&T resumes Great Lakes Valley Conference play at the New Year's, hosting William Jewell on Friday, Jan. 2, and Truman State on Sunday, Jan. 4, at Gibson Arena.
