Miners Dominate Ecclesia in 73-18 Victory

ROLLA, MO  —  Missouri S&T Women's Basketball controlled Wednesday night's game from start to finish, powering past Ecclesia 73-18. The Miners opened the game on an 18–0 run, forced 23 turnovers, and outscored the Royals 50–6 in the paint on their way to their fourth win of the season.

Missouri S&T set the tone immediately with defensive pressure that disrupted Ecclesia's rhythm from the opening tip. Savannah Campbell (Rolla, MO/Rolla) highlighted the Miners' early 18-0 run, scoring six of those points while adding 4 rebounds and an assist. Ecclesia's first points of the game came on a triple by Lillie Taylor, but Adrianne Tolen (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) answered with a second chance layup to end the quarter 20-3.

Despite a few three-pointers from Ecclesia, the Miners continued to build their lead in the second quarter. A fastbreak layup for Campbell and a three from Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) sparked an 11-2 run for S&T, giving the Miners a 37-11 advantage at the half.

After the break, the Miners continued to dictate the pace as the offense continued to click. Campbell dominated the opening minutes, getting a block, two rebounds, a steal, an assist, and a layup all in the first couple of minutes. The third quarter would be S&T's highest scoring of the night, as they put up 21 points while eight Miners contributed to the scoring.

S&T closed the night with a 15–0 fourth quarter as the Royals' offense stalled and shot 0-13 in the final ten minutes. Ava Casper (Bixby, OK/Holland Hall) found a rhythm late in the fourth, scoring on a fast break and a turnaround jumper while adding a couple of steals in the final five minutes.

Tolen and Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) paced the Miners in scoring with 11 apiece, with the latter shooting a perfect 5-for-5. Tolen tied with Campbell for the most rebounds on the team at eight, while Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) added 7 asssists.
