Benassi Nets Two as Miners Dominate William Jewell in 4-0 Senior Day Victory

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer put together a dominant performance on Senior Day, cruising to a 4-0 victory over William Jewell on Sunday afternoon at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.

The Miners wasted no time taking control, striking in the ninth minute when Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) finished off a pass from Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) to open the scoring. Benassi added her second goal just four minutes later, giving S&T a 2-0 lead that would hold through halftime.

In the second half, the Miners extended their advantage as Allie Workman (Olathe, KS/Olathe North) converted in the 63rd minute off another assist from Erisman, who tallied two assists on the day. Macy Wilderson (Kansas City, MO/St. Pius X) capped the scoring in the 82nd minute, scoring her season-first goal, finding the back of the net from assists by Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) and Haylee Prime (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange) to seal the 4-0 result.

S&T controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting the Cardinals 16-9 and forcing six saves from the opposing keeper. The Miners' defense was solid throughout, allowing just five shots on goal as goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) recorded the clean sheet with five saves in 90 minutes of play, securing her sixth shutout of the season.

Head coach Matthew Perry praised his team's effort and focus, saying, "A great performance and a great way to honor five incredible seniors. Four great goals and a clean sheet. We are still alive in the hunt for the tournament, and looking forward to another week of getting after it!"

With the win, Missouri S&T improves to 7-6-2 overall and 5-5-2 in GLVC play.
