Workman’s Goal Helps Miners Earn Road Draw at Rockhurst

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Rockhurst on Friday evening in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play at Bourke Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Miners (7-6-3, 5-5-3 GLVC) broke through in the 72nd minute when Allie Workman (Olathe, KS/Olathe North) found the back of the net for her third goal of the season, finishing from 15 yards out after a well-placed assist from Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West).

Rockhurst equalized in the 84th minute on a penalty kick by Anna Lantz, and despite late chances from both sides, the match ended level.

S&T held a slight edge in shots at 13-12, with Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) leading the way with six attempts, including three on goal. Caryle Bennett added a shot on target, while Workman also tallied one.

Defensively, the Miners held firm throughout the night, anchored by goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain), who recorded two saves and managed a composed performance against the Hawks' 10 corner kicks.

With the result, Missouri S&T picked up another valuable point in the conference standings as the regular season winds down.
