Women's Soccer Hits the Road to Face Upper Iowa and Quincy

Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer heads north for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference road matchups this weekend. The Miners will take on Upper Iowa on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Fayette, Iowa, before traveling to Quincy on Sunday, Oct. 19, for a noon kickoff.

About the Miners
The Miners (5-5-1, 3-4-1 GLVC) enter the weekend looking to build momentum following a strong showing at home last week.

On Friday, S&T put together one of its best offensive performances of the season, defeating UIndy 4-1 at Allgood-Bailey Stadium. Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) led the way with a hat trick, scoring in the 16th, 25th, and 53rd minutes, while Caryle Bennett opened the scoring just three minutes into the match. Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) earned the win in net with four saves, while Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North), and Savannah Tully (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart) each added assists as S&T outshot UIndy 15-6 and recorded seven corner kicks.

Two days later, the Miners battled Lewis in a closely contested match before falling 2-1. Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) scored her second goal of the season in the 73rd minute off a cross from Haylee Prime (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange), but the Flyers rallied with two goals in the final seven minutes to escape Rolla with the win. Barcom finished with two saves as S&T ended with 11 total shots.

S&T enters the road trip ranked among the GLVC's top-five teams in goals per game (1.636) and shots (14.09). Benassi continues to pace the Miners' attack, ranking third in the conference in goals (8) and second in points (20), while Barcom has posted a .909 goals-against average across nine starts.

About the Peacocks
Upper Iowa (3-7-2, 1-6-1 GLVC) enters the weekend after splitting its most recent road trip. On Friday, the Peacocks rallied in the second half to earn a 2-1 victory at Southwest Baptist. Myriah Roybal equalized in the 79th minute before Giovanna Alexa Garcia netted the game-winner six minutes later. Avery Harding finished with six saves in goal as Upper Iowa outshot SBU 11–10 and recorded seven corner kicks.

Two days later, the Peacocks fell 2-0 at Drury, despite a 10-save effort from Harding. Upper Iowa managed two total shots in the match while limiting Drury to a scoreless first half before conceding twice in the final 25 minutes.

About the Hawks
Quincy (8-1-2, 7-0-1 GLVC) enters the weekend on a seven-match unbeaten streak after earning back-to-back road victories. On Friday, the Hawks defeated Rockhurst 2-1 behind a brace from Rebecca Rheinheimer, who scored in the 27th and 83rd minutes, with assists from Emma Tell and Ella Wolfard. Quincy outshot the Hawks 18-12 and held a 8-3 edge in shots on goal, while goalkeeper Devin Tracy made two saves in the win

Two days later, Quincy blanked Southwest Baptist 2-0, powered by goals from Rheinheimer and Faith Niebrugge. The Hawks were dominant throughout, posting 13 shots and seven corner kicks while Tracy notched 10 saves.
