Miners Set for Lake Eerie, Ursuline, and Roosevelt at Crossover

HAMMOND, IN  --  S&T is set for a trio of matches at this year's Midwest Region Crossover in Hammond, Indiana. They will face a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference teams on Friday in Lake Eerie and Ursuline, with a match against Roosevelt from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference on Saturday. All matches will be livestreamed on BallerTV (linked in article). The full schedule is below:

Friday
11:30 a.m.  -  Missouri S&T vs Lake Eerie
4:30 p.m.  -  Missouri S&T vs Ursuline

Saturday
9 a.m.  -  Roosevelt vs Missouri S&T

About the Miners
Missouri S&T is looking to get back on track after a rough start to conference play that has the Miners 0-5 against Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents. The Miners have had to face four of the GLVC's top eight teams in that stretch, including Indianapolis who is 5-1 in conference play.

Kate Zipprich (Hardin, IL/Calhoun) continues to hold her place as the second-best blocker in the conference with 62 blocks, helping the Miners to an average of 2.11 blocks per set that is fourth-best in the conference. Zipprich also ranks 30th in the nation with 1.17 blocks per set. Elise Mehaffy's (Marion, IA/Marion) 5.81 assists per set is tenth-best in the GLVC while Addie Schoenberger (Menomonee Falls, WI/Hamilton Sussex) has surged in recent matches, scoring 10 or more points in each.

About the Storm
Lake Eerie is 6-10 this season with a 2-6 record against GMAC opponents. They rank 6th in the GMAC for both blocks and digs this season, averaging 1.88 and 15.23 per set, respectively.

Cecelia Mullens is 9th in the conferece for digs per set with 3.56. Allison Kirch leads the Storm in kills, recording 124 this season. Kennady Wiley has recorded the second-most points on the team with 121.5, with 40.0 blocks contributing to that total.


About the Arrows
Ursuline is still seeking their first win of the season, going 0-14 so far and 0-8 in the GMAC. Their hitting percentage is the fifth-worst in all of NCAA Division II at 0.063.

Amie McCarthy and Karrington Green lead the Arrows in kills with 95 and 81. The team has only recorded 68 blocks this year, with Aniyah Wise's 19.0 blocks leading the team.

About the Lakers
Roosevelt picked up their lone win of the season back on September 6th, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 3-1. They are hitting at .085 this year and are allowing opponents to hit at .265.

Italian outside hitter Alessia Isgro has been the Lakers' greatest contributor this year, recording 137.0 points this year. Her 2.22 kills per set are the highest on the team, while true freshman Abigail Wutka comes a close second with 2.20.

What's Next
The Miners will return to standard GLVC competition with matches at Missouri-St. Louis and McKendree.
