ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Women's Soccer fell on the road to undefeated Maryville on Friday afternoon 2-0.
Maryville pressured Missouri S&T with early shots on goalkeeper
Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain). She saved five shots in the first 20 minutes of the match against Maryville. In the 37
th minute, the Saints picked up their first goal of the season from Elsa Nilson-Hurtig.
In the middle of the second half,
Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) and
Macy Wilderson (Kansas City, MO/St. Pius X) tallied shots in the 63
rd and 64
th minutes.
Haylee Prime (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange) had a shot miss in the 71
st minute. Emily Doane made it 2-0 in the 76
th minute for Maryville.
The Saints won the game 2-0 as they remained undefeated with a 5-0-1 record. In their last three GLVC matches, they have averaged 5.6 goals per game until their 2-0 win over S&T.
Barcom saved a season-high 12 shots on 14 shots on goal.
Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) recorded two shots for two shots for the Miners as they did not have a shot on goal.
What's Next
The Miners will stay in St. Louis this weekend as they will face Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at 12 p.m. Due to rain in the forecast, this match will be played at Creve Coeur Soccer Park. Missouri S&T will return home next weekend to play Illinois-Springfield on Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. and McKendree on Oct. 6 at 12 p.m.
