45 S&T student-athletes earn GLVC Council of Presidents Awards for 2023-24

ROLLA, Mo. – A total of 45 Missouri S&T student-athletes completed their playing careers by also posting a 3.5 or better grade point average in their academic careers and were honored for those accomplishments today by the Great Lakes Valley Conference as the league announced its Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Awards for the 2023-24 school year.

The Council of Presidents Academic Excellence awards – given this year to 541 student-athletes from the GLVC's 13 eligible institutions -- are presented to student-athletes who have completed their athletic eligibility in their sports and played at least two seasons in the conference, all while maintaining a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the 2024 spring semester. 

The 541-member list was headed by 24 individuals that completed their collegiate careers with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.  That list includes five Missouri S&T student-athletes – Mia Alessio and Hannah Feltz from the women's volleyball team, Paige Lambright from the women's track & field team, Emma Puetz from the women's cross country and track & field team and Elizabeth Viox from the softball team.
 
Among the 45 S&T recipients, six competed in football as well as men's track & field and in women's track & field (five men and four women also competed in cross country).  Five student-athletes from the baseball and men's soccer teams were also named as well as four women's soccer and volleyball student-athletes, three members of the softball team, two from the golf and swimming teams and one member apiece from the men's and women's basketball teams were selected.
